To make money blogging you have to be able to influence a decent number of people. You either have to be good at building a network of loyal readers and followers or else you had better get pretty darn good at SEO.

Whether you are building sites for monetizing with PPC or if you are building affiliate sites, you are still going to need to have traffic that you can convert into money. That traffic has either got to come from a targeted audience or from organic search engine traffic.

While it’s not something that I do now though it’s something that I’d like to try in the feature is paid posts. Not posts that review something and give it a good word but instead just inform the readers of my blog about a website, product or service. With the right niche, it’s been known for bloggers to make a killing. The only problem is the moral of a post like that and the possible guilt too as we’re more likely to be biased about something when we’ve been paid to talk about it!

I use every source of income from the list in your article. However my most profitable source is not listed.

I make the most money from a membership site. Now you have to have a niche where that would provide value to people. I teach people online how to trade.

I learned of this technique by a marketing expert that has a membership teaching marketing.

So if you can write materials that are truly beneficial to people and then update it on a very regular basis then you can have a membership site.

The benefit is that after a while when you have a large amount of members the income can grow to be quite large.

I make the majority of my money from product sales (Just launched a Thesis skin that’s doing pretty well) and then a bit down the list is affiliate sales. I don’t advertise anything or use google adsense or anything like that. I’ve always found that advertising doesn’t pay off unless you have boatloads of boatloads of traffic. And even then, if it’s targetted, you could make more money with well-placed and honest affiliate mentions.
