Looks like a great site! I’ve subscribed to the RSS feed.
Also, I think it would be a great feature to have a short description of the article with the link.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
I might try to implement that in the future. That’s a really good idea. Thanks.
Mik said:
Just added you to my Google Reader, found your site via StumbleUpon!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Mik –> Great! I’m glad you found me. I’m starting to like Stumble Upon more and more. I’ve been finding some good sites on there as well.
vasiauvi said:
Ahh…this is the site that yesterday you put link on twitter.
I’ve already bookmarked it,:)
Thanks!
With your approval can I put an interesting link about Web optimization: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/ultimate-guide-to-web-optimization-tips-best-practices/
I’ve found it very helpful for me!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
vasiauvi –> Feel free to submit that article. Just click on the submit button on Blog-Mixer.com and submit the article title, the article url, and two tags. It’s really simple.
Mukund said:
May be you should consider the following website. I am not the owner of the blog or something. I feel these blogs definitely read great recognition. Check out his blog here: http://www.woork.blogspot.com
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Mukund –> If they have an article that you think would be especially helpful to people be sure to stop by there and hit the submit button and share it with everyone.
Mukund said:
Yes! Definitely, I would do that! May be it will take quite some time to analyse which one is the best. More over, I would like to submit some my articles too in Blog Mixer very soon.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Mukund –> Great! I’m looking forward to your submissions.
Bruce Teague said:
Is there anyway to include the author with the title? A lot of those articles I’ve read already, but I didn’t remember the title name so I clicked on it anyways. I’m familiar with the authors I read though. Not a big issue though.
Eric B. said:
I also think this would be helpful.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Bruce Teague –> I added the website name as part of the submission form. How does it look now?
Bruce Teague said:
The blog is even better that the author. Now I won’t be thrown off by guest posters. Thanks!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Bruce Teague –> Good. I figured that if I put the author in there people would end up getting it wrong when it was a guest poster or something and this way that wouldn’t happen.
Sat Chen said:
This really is a great idea. This should have quite a lot visitors. Going to subscribe!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> Good. I hope it helps you find the resources that you need to take your blog to the next level.
Jamie Favreau said:
Thank you. Great resource!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Jamie Favreau –> You’re welcome. I hope that it’s helpful.
Sat Chen said:
This the bold theme from elegant themes right
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> That is correct. I’ve modified it’s layout a bit which I’m sure you can tell.
Arisu said:
And it looks great, Nick
Your customizations on themes always look neat and elegant.
Maybe you could write a post about themes, how to choose one and how to do a good customization.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Arisu –> I’ll definitely do that. I’ve been learning a lot about basic php lately and I’ve been scouring the Wordpress Codex to learn how to modify the theme and make it look nice for me.
Daniel A. said:
I think the layout is great. It is eye-friendly. =)
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Daniel A. –> Good. That’s always very important to me. I’ve spent about a week working on customizing that design and it’s functionality and now I’m pretty happy with it.
HelpfulAdvisor said:

Already I have found gold in your hand-picked articles, therefore making it another indispensable resource (next to SiteSketch101)!
Thanks for all you do!

Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
HelpfulAdvisor –> Figuring out what information people are looking for is the hardest part. Once you’ve figured that out the rest is easy. Hopefully there will be some information on the site that will answer questions and provide information for all of you.
Arisu said:
Congrats and good luck with the new site Nick, I bet it´ll be as good as sitesketch 101.
I´m also glad that you added the author´s name to the article, cause I read Problogger and Daily Blog Tips on regular basis!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Arisu –> Good. I’m glad that someone suggested it. I’ve considered trying to add a thumbnail of each article but I haven’t really found a great way to do that just yet.
Sat Chen said:
Just curoius: What hosting did you choose?
Eric B. said:
This is also something that I would like to know
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
I just put it on the same server as this site. Justhost.com.
Sat Chen said:
How many domains can you have from this server?
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> You can have unlimited. I have two servers like that. On this server I only have these two websites. On my other server, I have a bunch of very low traffic websites.
Mukund said:
I just want some help from you Nicholas! Since you are talking about servers and other stuff!! I would like to know which hosting website is the best? I need to shift from my blogger domain to a custom one. So, I would like to know which one is the best?
Sat Chen said:
Just curious how many blogs to you own, Nicholas?
Daniel A. said:
I am also curious What are your others blogs about?
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Daniel A. –> This is the only blog that I run. I’ve built some websites for some people but this is the only blog I currently operate. I will likely start more websites and blogs in the future but right now this is it.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> This is the only blog that I own right now. But I own a few websites.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Mukund –> I recommend that you switch to Wordpress first. The switch will be worth the hassle. Then I can recommend Justhost.com and hostgator.com. I have had one major issue with Justhost.com but I got that resolved pretty quickly and overall their servers are fast and easy to use. Overall I’ve been very happy with them.
Mukund said:
I will shift my domain from blogger to wrodpress but the problem is I provide tips realted to blogger. So, I can’t have my own blog running in wordpress. I hope you understand my problem. What is the monthly cost for running a blog using JustHost.com? And using Hostgator?
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Mukund –> Yeah. That wouldn’t look very good if you were using Wordpress and blogging about blogger. However, you could always blog about Wordpress. :0
Mukund said:
Pretty good idea! I should think about what you said! May be blog about wordpress too! If I find time, definitely I will start a blog there too!!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Mukund –> Good thinking.
Sat Chen said:
I think wordpress would be better than blogger because as a writer you would have more things to write about, great features, and last but most importantly its cooler
Joe Cassada said:
Nicholas,
You certainly have been a busy man. What a wonderful idea.
Bookmarked!
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Thanks. I hope that it brings you many pearls of wisdom.
Tycoon Blogger said:
Great idea and I will be submitting some of my articles for sure.
Sat Chen said:

P.S. Good luck on that contest. I voted for you
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Tycoon Blogger –> Good. I’m looking forward to seeing them on there.
Diane C said:
What a really neat idea. Also I really like the design and layout of the new site.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Diane C –> Thanks. I’m glad that you like it.
Arisu said:
Amazing content and great layout! I love the waterpainting look of the header.
And adding the source was a great idea too
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Arisu –> Good. Hopefully it will help connect a lot of people with some good blogging tips and ideas.
Arisu said:
You know what? It´s doing it already
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Arisu –> Good! I hope so.
Daniel A. said:
I have a quick question. Do you ask permission to link an article or do you just link it?
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Daniel A. –> You just link it. You need permission to use images that someone else took or created and you need permission to republish an article. But you don’t need permission to tell people about an article. Most people consider that as a compliment when you link to their article and let people know about it.
Ron Boracay said:
Hello Nicholas,
Blog mixer can be a one stop shop for all kick ass blogging articles.
Also, I think, thumbnails or some photos relevant to the content can be added on the blog mixer mainpage.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Ron Boracay –> I’m trying to find an effective way to add thumbnails and if I can come up with it then I will definitely do that. Right now I’m having trouble finding a system that I really like.
Sat Chen said:
I thought you could just upload an image from your computer and add it to the custom field then it shows up. It really easy actually.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> Yes, but that would have to be done for every single article which would take time. I’m trying to make it very easy for users to be able to create and submit listings themselves. So I want to integrate a system of letting users set it all up.
Sat Chen said:
That would be sweet. Let me know if you figure it out.
Ron Boracay said:
If this will be integrated with blog mixer, then I think, It will be much more cooler.
I think, you should also add the image upload tool with a automatic re sizer so that, those people who will pass or submit articles can automatically upload their own image or thumbnail without the pain of resizing the photo themselves.
Reza Winandar said:
I think the design is too boxy but the overall is good.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Reza Winandar –> I’ll take that into consideration and think about what I might be able to do to unbox it a little bit. Thanks for the honest feedback.
Sat Chen said:
On blog-mixer do you use the most recent articles or the good article you find?
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> Mostly just recent articles. I have posted a couple of older ones though.
Sat Chen said:
I bought the domain and hosting
. Going to work on adding features I want.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> Great! Have fun with it!
Sat Chen said:
I was planning to make a photoshop, css website but that’s gonna have to wait because my friends want me to make an anime site. But the photoshop, css website is still on my list of things to do
ZXT said:
Great site! How can you find time for another good blog site while maintaining this one and having a regular day job?
Let me just go over there again at BlogMixer and check out all those helpful articles.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
ZXT –> It’s hard to find the time but I believe in it and so it’s easy to make it happen.
Mukund said:
I submitted two articles in blog mixer. One written by me and other post was from favourite site(Woork). I hope to see them soon.
Ron Boracay said:
Mukund –> I will check and wait for your article to come out.
I am also writing my own article. As soon as I finished and someone proofread it, I will also submit to the blogmixer
Mukund said:
Definitely! Even I await your posts! My post about increasing feedburner subscribers has been published there! Check out Ron!!
Ron Boracay said:
Wow, Mukund, that is a great article. My article is still on process, maybe I will submit it in a few days or in a week.
Mukund said:
Thanks Ron!! Sure!! I will wait for you post! I am sure it will be good!!
ZXT said:
Whats the topic of your article Ron? Travel? Blogging tips? Blogger?
Pinaybackpacker said:
This is an interesting concept. I’ve been looking for a way to do something like this on a smaller scale. But I couldn’t get my head around it.
I know I can use RSS feeds, fetch these from my Google reader (I use Google alerts also for specific topics) but I don’t know exactly how ethical it would be.
I’ve posted something using Zemanta (reblog icon) yesterday. And I think the author appreciated it because I only quoted 2 paragraphs (it was a very logn article) and I also put in my own stamp on it. Plus, I cited the original source, the author and the date.
I’ll probably email you specific questions after I look at BlogMixer.
Thanks again Nick! I should be paying you instead for all that I’m learning here.
BM said:
I think as long you don’t copy word per word it’s okay.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Pinaybackpacker –> I also have some articles in the sidebar here that are from my RSS feeds in Google reader. It’s an effective solution and I don’t see anything unethical about it.
Sat Chen said:
Nick do you plan on having advertisement on blog-mixer.
Nicholas Z. Cardot said:
Sat Chen –> There are already advertisements on blog-mixer.
