5 Ways to Be A More Influential Blogger

Blogging has a lot of benefits. It can help you meet new people, help you to improve your skills and it can even help you to make money online. Influence can be defined as the effect of one thing or person on another.
As a blogger, your influence is not necessarily measured by the size of your audience but by the number of people you can influence within that audience. This post will be talking about 5 ways by which you can become a more influential blogger.
Be Unique
One thing that can be noticed among influential bloggers is that they are unique. They are different from the rest and they play to their strengths. There is no point in trying to be like another person. One of the key principles of influence is being yourself.
You should have your own way of doing things and you should perfect your own form of doing things instead of trying to imitate another person. Work towards inspiring another person imitate you.
The level of your influence will be measured by how many people you could affect so work towards being yourself and others will want to be you.
Create Great Content
Your work and content is what will influence others. Your content is the foundation of your influence and if you fail at this, you have failed at the rest.
It is very important to write powerful, helpful content. You shouldn’t just write anything but you should write about subjects which can truly change the state of another person. You should write content that will challenge others to take action.
As an aspiring influencer, you should be writing timeless content that will be relevant in years to come. What is the value of your influence if it starts and ends today or even quicker? You should be able to write content that will influence lives in years to come – influence is not only about now, it is about the future.
Connect and Build Your Network
Since you cannot influence those you cannot see and one of the major desires of an influential person is to be able to influence more and more people, being social is inevitable.
Influence deals with people and it deals with connecting with people on a large scale. There are many social networks on the internet now and I can’t imagine how someone who wants to be an influential blogger is not building their presence in any of these networks. Your people are there in large numbers so go after them. Be social.
Develop Your Authority
You might want to ask yourself, “Am I worth listening to?” If you are not worth listening to or you are too subjective, people might not care to listen to you. But if you write with authority and confidence people will see you as someone who knows what he is saying.
The difference between an influential blogger and one who is not is that people take the advice of an influential blogger into practice while they don’t care about the fellow who does not have influence.
If you are making yourself look like someone that should not be listened to then you are destroying the foundation of being an influential blogger.
Create and Innovate
Another great characteristic of influential bloggers is that they are creative. As an influential blogger you should be an innovator and you should always be developing new things and bold ideas.
Since people are looking up to you, they are ready to learn from you. They are ready to do what they see you do you should always be coming up with new things.

Being unique, finding your own voice and style can be a very freeing experience.
I think it’s a great waste of time for bloggers to try to be someone they are not.
It’s better to sharpen your skills and apply your own unique style the entire development process for your blog.
Being the best you that you can be will stand you in good stead as you produce unique, quality, innovative and authoritative blog content.

Great points, these are timeless principles. These are true no matter what your platform is, blogging or otherwise.
“Be Unique” is key, with the low barrier of entry into the blogging world, you have to stand out from all the noise.

As for being unique I think that it’s really important to carve out your own way of writing so that your readers can grow to love the way that you write, not being able to find your sense of style anywhere else. Readers will not come back to your site as they won’t be able to find your uniqueness anywhere else, they’ll also be more likely to talk about you with their friends and such which is great for your marketing.

Great article. Thanks for sharing. I just wanted to add a thought here. You say in the post,
“The level of your influence will be measured by how many people you could affect so work towards being yourself and others will want to be you.”
Do we really want others to be like us? Isn’t that taking away from their uniqueness? Again, I appreciate the post, just a thought.
