How often are you finding others who write about similar topics, connecting with them in conversation and linking to them in your articles? No one will link to you unless they write something that your content would be relevant to and they much first have discovered you in the first place.

I just started blogging and have written a hodgepodge of articles. It’s all original content, but it doesn’t seem to generate any “organic” hits from search engines. Not saying my blog is the definitive anything, but it’s original. What bugs me is that if this is an incremental process, my current increment is zero! Thanks for the article. I was going to post about how much more difficult links, seo and such are when running a service based business (I run a painting and a real estate business). But I started thinking of some ideas from here, such as offering articles on the housing market to some new home builders or working with interior design blogs and offer "How To" articles to them about painting. Just requires a little creative thinking. Thanks MN Painting Contractor
